Now that I've blogged about the coolness of Windows Live Writer, which I'll call WLW henceforth, it got me to thinking;  You can insert *anything* into a blog post automatically.  You can even tell people what music you're listening to at the moment the blog is posted (if you're using the rhapsody music service).   Seeing as how the Best of the Web Directory has an enormous number of links and categories, surely there must be something relevant to a blog post there.  Perhaps blogs from the BOTW Blog Directory that are related to what you're talking about?  With the technorati plugin, you actually type in the keywords to be used for the tags.  Maybe instead of reinventing the wheel, we can piggy back on those keywords and look up matches in the BOTW directory for you to select from?  So if you're talking about pumpkins you might get a food category, a halloween category, and probably a music category about the band Smashing Pumpkins?  Useful?  Perhaps.  We shall have to kick it around.
