I've been trying to avoid politics in my blog, but this is ridiculous.  John Mccain is getting flak because he joked about bombing Iran.  It's all about context.  Just because someone is joking does not mean that's what there foreign policy is going to be.  You may recall Ronald Reagan joking during a microphone check saying "I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."  I don't know if Mr. Mccain is necessarily my top candidate at this point, but he should definitely be cut some slack.
